Silly Saturday ...
... Pool Selfie.
Today was another hot one ... although not as hot as it's going to get over the next few days to come. The week promises to be hot, hot, hot. And they are calling for our first heat wave of the year ... which is 3 or more days over 90° F.
That said ... we got out for our walk earlier than normal in order to beat the heat. We had a wonderful walk at Housenick Memorial park. And as we were entering the park we encountered the two white-tailed deer in the Extras. The photo on top is a young male (buck) and the other is a female (doe). They were both enjoying the berries that have fallen from a rather large tree. I've looked up the type of tree before but have forgotten the name.
The hot weather was also a great excuse to have some silly Saturday selfie fun in the pool after lunch. Did you know that the first self-portrait was taken in 1839 by a young man named Robert Cornelius? I didn't either! But look what he started!!! Around October 1839, Cornelius improvised a camera obscura and made his first daguerreotype, a self-portrait outside of his family store. How cool is that!?!
