Simmer Dim Wars

A fine day, mostly sunny with more cloud this evening, but it has been windy.  Thunderstorms threatening tonight. 

Up with Sammy at 6am, midgies galore outside, back to bed.  Breakfast in the caravan, then walkies. Headed into the Tangwick Haa Museum, saw cousin Eileen.  Lunch at the Braewick café.  Headed over to Ollaberry in the afternoon.  Mam, Madeline and big Brian came along for a barbecue this evening, then friend, Aileen, from up the road popped by.  Quiet night watching the sun set, Simmer Dim (summer solstice) is here.  Sunset at 2240hrs, it never gets dark.

Simmer Dim Rally weekend is here again.  Not just locals who attend, hundreds of bikers arrive from across the world for it.  It's mostly a boozy weekend, partying and music, bit there is some fun games on Saturday afternoon.  This year's first tug of war competition was Northmavine Jarl Squad vs Nesting Jarl Squad.  Poor Nesting boys lost quickly, they weren't a match for stocky north boys.  Strain was on for Nesting here, in the Simmer Dim marquee, Ollaberry hall.
