The lavender farm

Once a year l make a trip out to the lavender farm about 20 miles from home.  I went a couple of weeks earlier this year as the very hot weather has caused the flowers to bloom early but because there are different varieties there are some rows yet to come.  It is a pleasant and restful visit to the countryside, a beautiful scent in the air and a low buzz from the many bees.  A tasty slice of lemon drizzle cake and a coffee in the barn converted into a cafe rounded off the morning before we set off home in the new car.  An extremely hot day, we had the cooler part the morning.
