Brighton your day!

I've always had a hit list of places to visit in the UK and have been steadily ticking them off, having done Whitby, Bude and Inverness over the past few holidays. When we picked East Grinstead as our holiday destination, it was to enable us to visit the seaside town of Brighton, cheaply and easily. Today we were able to cross this destination from the list, but I'm certain it won't be our last visit.

Graham remembers Brighton from his childhood and led us from the station to the pier. We spent an exhilarating hour sampling the delights that this attraction had to offer. There were a plethora of photo opportunities; the sand through the boards of the pier, the seagulls circling and an exciting five minutes on the dodgems! Eric had his picture taken lounging on a deckchair and with his (and my) head through a hole in a chip shop advertisement!

We then wandered back along the promenade and stopped to watch a Punch and Judy show and Eric found a couple of mermaids who begged to be photographed with him. We finished the day browsing in shops in Brighton's "lanes" before hopping back on the "park and ride" bus.

The sun shone all day, and I decided on this simple view of Brighton's beach for today's Blip!
