Vik and his iguana

i have a few pictures of this iguana.  V has many more, it was one of those obliging creatures that posed for pictures.

We swam off the lovely hotel beach, although my cold had worsened overnight.  The sea was almost perfect, fresher than in Miami but also with some bounce.  Rory came to find us at about 12 and we went to the Botanical Gardens which were lush and lovely, we bought food for the koi carp which were a boiling mass of gold and for the lorikeets, little tubs of flower nectar apparently.  We saw flamingoes but mainly loads of  intensely coloured tropical plants, including many that V recognised from his childhood in Costa Rica.  It was stunning. Pictured one of those statuesque palms shaped like a fan

Then we had lunch at Chez Ernst a restaurant with a glorious view over a secluded bay.  The food was good but we over-ordered.

Dropped V back at the hotel and went to a party given by one of the local crew on a beach that was a mile and a half long.  It was much wilder than the hotel beach and at one point I got smacked onto the sand by a heavy wave.

Back at the hotel we had a quiet evening, showed R pics of Florida and then he went off and we had an early night.  No dinner as I was still so stuffed from lunch.
