The Next Chapter!

……………………………………….and delivered!

Well what a night last night proved to be…we were in the path of the electric storm for about three hours! I was just cleaning my teeth when the rain started again, quickly followed by the odd rumble of thunder and lightning flash. Once I’d finished my ablutions I headed down to the wee ones bedroom to watch out the window…at this point it had stopped raining and the storm was moving more or less east to west. The lightning was unreal! I headed to bed about 11.30 or so but decided it wasn’t worth trying to sleep. At some point it changed direction and the lightning was right above me before very slowly heading out to sea. The final clap of thunder ricocheted through my entire house it was so close. We did lose power for a minute or two mid storm just as the heavens opened and the wind got up…I’ve never seen a storm like it in this country before.

Needless to say after two nights of not a lot of sleep I wasn’t up at the crack of dawn! I did have free electric all day though so didn’t sleep too late and the washing machine has been going all day. A quick trip to M&S late morning as G was expected and I’d not a lot for lunch. I also needed some kiddies windmills to use as bird scarers to keep a young blackbird out of my newly planted pots…yesterday it caused absolute havoc in my garden.

G came to deliver my blanket box, luckily MC was heading my way to pinch the car so they manoeuvred it up the stairs between them…it’s looking lovely at the foot of the wee ones bed and will be used as a memory box. A collage in extras of some of the finer details. Over lunch I offered G some practical advice on running your own business…he’s spending some time at the minute trying to get his house liveable in before he starts a commissioned piece for me.

Once G left I took a nap between sorting laundry, it’s been intermittently wet throughout the day but once again turned into a nice evening so I took myself for a walk along the prom after I’d had tea.
