Crash

I was woken by exceedingly loud and heavy rain at 6am and a lot of thunder. Mr A said the thunder had been going on most of the night. I guess there would have been plenty of lightning, had I had a good look out of the window, but since I'm actually not keen on thunderstorms at all, I wasn't going to go looking. I shut the window, as the noise of the rain was deafening, and we managed to sleep again until 8am.

While A&N were down at the Tain vintage car rally on marshalling duty, so A skipped swimming, I went for the swimming option (where the weather was acceptable and the waves surprisingly strong) and then - on return home - I focused with Mr A on clearing up and getting the washing up done (and the kitchen clean). I resisted the temptation to go down to the Links to look at the vintage cars, even when N texted about the doggy agility competition....

We were going to have a quiet afternoon, but in the end we decided to go to Highland Lilliums. T&G brought us an agapanthus when they came to the party yesterday and T suggested it would look nice in a pot in the front (I think that their garden is mainly a pot garden as they have a small plot on the corner of Hill Street and Manse Street). So of course having gone to Highland Lillliums, we didn't just come away with a new pot (like the one the posh white lilac is in), but also a bunch of other bits and pieces. We had a burst of energy when we got back, filling the new pot and planting out the various other plants (which will surely feature on the blip in due course). That energy has now dissipated, post a scratch tea consisting of reheated quiche from yesterday, and we are both contemplating an early night as we have an early morning.
