Damp Sunshine

I was going to Blip one of my extras until these rwo rainbows appeared about 7.30 this evening. I am sure there is an explanation why the sky between the rainbows is darker than the rest, but I don't know it.

My first extra includes a tall Sweet Chestnut tree with no lower branches. I love the bark,  but I can't imagine a bark rubbing doing it justice. 

My second extra is of a tree root that has grown over a slab of rock and then anchored itself into the ground. I can't imagine the tree's thought processes in deciding to carry on growing over the bare rock. But it got there in the end.
