Only 28 degrees!

Ten degrees cooler today, and it was lovely! I had a burst of energy, did all the ironing, hoovered and washed the floors in the gîte and remade the beds!
Shelley was enjoying not hiding from the heat too, but Elvis was very subdued. Yesterday he was subdued and hid away in his crate all day, but I thought it was because it the heat.
Today when I stroked him I found his neck fur was all wet with blood, mostly dried, but some seeping out. I cleaned him up as best I could as he wasn’t very co-operative, and found several cuts and lumps on his skin. I wonder if he made contact with something under the water in the black pond yesterday?
His fur is so thick in that area, I think he really needs it shaved off so we can see where we are, so we’ll be ringing the vet as soon as they open tomorrow morning.
