Elvis hasn’t had a good day!
Elvis was looking very sorry for himself, as you can see in the top photo. We phoned the vet as soon as they opened, and took him down there at 10am.
It was quite difficult to see what was going on with all the matted fur and dried blood, so the vet tried to shave off some fur. Well Elvis has never had the clippers on him before, and they were very loud ones, right near his ear, so he objected!
I thought he was going to need an anaesthetic, and he did, so we left him and went shopping. Poor Elvis was taken into the operating room and given a general anaesthetic, shaved, scrubbed, doused with antiseptic and given injections of steroid and antibiotics.
We picked him up at 4pm, with a detailed list of when to scrub, when to apply antiseptic, and when to give the antibiotics and steroid tablets. He’s got to wear the Cone of Shame all the time, and we’re to go back on Thursday.
I came home and opened the rosé.
