A Bevy of Swans

A much cooler day than yesterday - a pleasant 22 degrees centigrade with a breeze to make it feel even fresher.

This morning we walked Merlin at Emsworth and were interested to see the swans had gathered half a mile away from their usual spot by the quayside. They appeared to have been in a nearby reed bed so perhaps went there to find shade in the hot weather.

It’s my birthday today so after walking around the woods (seen in this blip) we wandered along to the bakery and treated ourselves to an apple and almond tart. It was enjoyed as dessert this evening.

With it being cool outside, this afternoon I did some deadheading and tidying in the garden. It looks better although a little parched - not the usual lushness of June.

This evening the house is still very warm (25 degrees) as the extra heat it has accumulated over recent days is radiating from the walls. The windows are open and a breeze is blowing through the rooms - it feels wonderful!

Hoping your day has been a good one.
