Leeds

A Yorkshire blipper commented yesterday day that I go to conferences in cool locations, but for the next three days I'll be in Leeds. I've not been here since 1981, when I attended the second day of what was a legendary cricket match between England and Australia - due to what happened on days four and five...

Today I began by creating the schedule for our workshop, finishing just in time for the first of two trips with A to Mum's flat in order to clear it completely. We were efficient, and had time to shop for groceries in the way back. A cooked while, I packed, and we had a nice lunch. I had time for a shower before we drove into Edinburgh for the third time. A dropped me off at Waverley, before collecting Django from daughter K.

My train left late due to a lorry hitting a railway bridge, and I missed my connection in York. However, my ticket was valid on any of the many trains to Leeds. There I Turfed my way to my cheap hotel and, after checking in, answered the call from my Kiwi collaborator to meet up in a nearby pub. The last time I saw him was at a conference in Phoenix.

Leeds is neither Phoenix, nor the Azores...
