Wild Flowers surround Songster
in Queens Park, Loughborough. We were there to hear the Charnwood Symphonic Wind Orchestra, far and away the most musical of the bands we've heard so far this year. I just wish one of the bands would play the theme tune from The Mandalorian again.
At the end of the concert, I insisted on doing a round of the park to look at the flowers. Len usually takes Basil for a perambulation while I wait to look after the chairs.
My route took me past the Carillon, which is always playing when we arrive and on to the wild flower patch surrounding Loughborough's own warhorse called Songster. Why do wild flower patches always get more ugly and untidy each year?
The planted flower beds look very smart.
New gates have been installed at one entrance to the park. So smart that I think Loughborough must be going up in the world.
Saw Sam, the idVerde worker from The Outwoods. We agreed that Olivia's cafés both at the park and at the Outwoods are run by cheapskates. The staff are not particularly well trained. The ice cream that Len bought for me this afternoon had melted so much that I had to drink it to finish it.
On arriving home, I managed to catch my leg on the corner of the car door while closing it. Substantial flow of blood. Not good since I'm taking blood thinners.
