A swell day out

This morning I headed over to Fife with AMcD to visit the three tidal pools there.

We started at St Monan's where we meet R who swims there regularly. There was also a woman from Amsterdam taking a dip as well. R then gave us directions to the next two at Pittenweem and Cellardykes.

By that time the tide had come in and the wind had got up.  The sea was rough at Pittenweem and you could barely see the sides of the pool but once we had a great time bobbing about in the waves. However we didn't venture far from the shore.

Cellardykes was calmer and brighter and we enjoyed our swim there. There were food stall and we enjoyed a very tasty crepe with bacon and maple syrup afterwards.

It was a grand day out - sea swimming, even in tidal pools, makes a lovely change from swimming in the loch.

It's also good to know exactly where each one is, where to park, what facilities there are for future reference.
