A Certain Shade Of Green
Playing with my new glasses. After a discussion with the opticians the other week, it worked out better to have one pair with “Transitions” lenses rather than one ordinary pair and one pair of sunglasses under the “buy one pair, get a second pair 50% off” offer, like I normally do. He even did me a bit of a deal so I could have genuine RayBan lenses with the classic G-15 tint.
I was assured that these lenses are much more sophisticated than the old “Reactolite” lenses you used to get. I never fancied them because they were quite slow to change and didn’t really work when driving.
As an experiment, I covered one lens and then exposed the other to the sunlight. Quite a difference, though it was a tricky picture to take because if I went back inside the dark lens went light quite quickly and if stayed outside, the clear lens darkened just as rapidly!
Got there in the end, though the photo doesn’t really pick up the green tint. Time to stop playing now and start wearing them. The old sunglasses will be kept for gigging duties - can’t really pull off the “rock god” look if your shades go clear as soon as you step on to a darkened stage!
