A Monkey's Tale

Kingpin

Our weekend of fun in the sun with our good friend Spikey took off in fine form.. with some drizzle. Typical really.

We had originally thought a trip to the zoo would satisfy & entertain our young, inquisitive minds, but with things being greyer than anticipated, we had to move to plan B. It was also that time again to stretch my little leggies. And so first things first, as Matt & Jen sat with their morning cuppas & enjoyed the over-acted, action-packed new series of Power Rangers (classic!), I laced up & ran out the door on my 10.9mile run.

It was a toughy but I'm thrilled to be making progress. The weather was fine on my route, with spells of sun breaking through the overcast sky. Jen & Matt had popped out to the local French patisserie while I was out & brought back pan au chocalat for break! Lovely! We quickly decided that chilling out was a much better idea for the day, after all it was the weekend. I'm a fan, but with two Potter nuts now in the flat, it was no surprise that Harry Potter and The Philosophers Stone soon made a very swift beeline for the DVD player.

The picture above may then puzzle you, as it doesn't look like three bods vegging on the sofa!?... well we did in fact crave the excitement of the real world, & early eve we headed to Crawley & to the Hollywood Bowl for some long overdue tenpin action! How good are we I hear you then ask... suffice to say, we all began with strikes. Oh yeah, by the way, we're good... or lucky. It was great fun! We couldn't resist having a go in the arcade afterwards either. Jenny had a real workout out on this pogo stick, bouncing away on this bizarre game, which when she won, dished out a string of small paper tickets - we had no idea what to do with them, still don't. We also played some air hockey - it was carnage, pucks flying everywhere, nearly took eyes out - & Jen & I got roundly trounced by Matt. Like an octopus he was!

A super day! Snazzy socks by the way.
