Brighton Rocks

It was Jenny's turn to face the wrath of the early morning run & thankfully, my turn for a nice cuppa cha with Spikey! Jenny bossed a 10mile trek & as ever the perfectionist, she was a little disappointed to have not gone further. Pish posh! You did amazing Jen, it's a great effort & keep it up! The Great North Run will be a walk in the park by the time we get there.

The sun was shining & so that meant only one thing - a day trip to Brighton!

We chilled on the beach, which incidentally was quite a few other people's ideas too, with some s & c (sausage & chips, fish didn't get a look in today, it was the battered sausage all the way!) - a compulsory really as we were at the beach. We chilled, Matt pilied stones on a dozing, bewildered Jenny, & we attempted skimming pebbles on the sea (most got eaten up by the white froth, unsurprisingly). Just before we could have all happily had a post chip shop nap, we made for the Lanes for a wander.

Spikey's hunger quickly returned & so we darted into Bill's for some their delicious chocolate brownie milkshakes (YES, that is two in two weekends now - I deserve it, I've run very far!), sorbet & eton mess. Yum!

Rather full but very happy, we decided it was home time. Before he took to road we even had time for another installment of HP - the Chamber of Secrets this time.

It's been a great weekend & fantastic to have Spikey stay as our honoured guest.

Brighton rocks? We Rock!
