Between fen and mountains

Now that the season is upon us, it is even more important to get down to the market early. I had to circle around the centre of town twice to find a parking spot even at 8 am. It was good to benefit from a little bit of early morning freshness. The summer influx of visitors brings out the street musicians. With the market shopping done, I did a little weeding in the garden, but only for 20 minutes or so as it is not a good idea to work too long in this heat. There was no tennis lesson for the same reason and no one was interested in attending French conversation. I was not too bothered as this evening I have my language exchange with Lucas who is doing his masters degree at Sciences Po in Paris. He gets half an hour of English conversation and I get half an hour of French and we generally explore subjects that are a bit more than chitchat. In the afternoon, I watched some tennis and listened to the cricket before Nathalie came round to cut our hair.
