Rosa Veilchenblau
This violet coloured rose is having its best year ever, so far as I know….! It’s a very vigorous rambler, growing up to 20 feet in height. It has lived on top of a large hedge for many years, and the only flowers I have seen were by craning my neck to look for them. Last year I managed to pull one of the stems down and drape it over a low hazel bush, and it has responded by giving me loads of lovely visible flowers! They are fairly small but very numerous, and have a sweet scent.
I can see several strong new growths from the main stem which I will hope to train in suitable low positions to further enjoy it next year.
So, it was worth planting after all!
