WE LOVE OUR DENTIST!
Sadly no shots of the actual dentist, but he is amazing and we have no problem going to him. His nurse, Clare or Claire - not sure which, is lovely too.
When we first got there, we had a chat with Debbie, the lovely receptionist - we get on well with her, and have known her since we left our previous practice when our dentist retired. We thought we would never get another dentist as good as he was, but we were wrong - Sat is as good!
You can see Debbie in the middle of my collage - she is such a little poser, but always has a cheery word or an insult so it is always a pleasure to see her too. She is definitely NOT your usual type of receptionist and certainly nothing like the one I had to deal with yesterday.
I asked Mr. HCB to stand next to the poster advertising Facial Rejuvenation and Anti-ageing and he was sort of happy to oblige! However, as Debbie and I both said, the girl on the advertisement has not one wrinkle! But then, I guess if she had, there would have to be “before and after” shots.
Next to Debbie are shots from the upstairs surgery of the Tented Market, which is now closed with the Murray John Tower behind - a tower block built in the seventies and officially opened in 1976 - named after David Murray John – Clerk of Swindon Borough Council from 1938-1974. It stands 83 metres high. Interestingly, we were only speaking about this building last night at our Home Group, thinking about its height. We were studying the book of Daniel in the Bible and read that King Nebuchadnezzar had a gold statue built that was 27 metres high and we were using this building as a comparison. I used to work for someone who lived in one of the upper floor flats, and there was a wonderful view all over Swindon, as you can imagine.
There is also a shot of the Street Art on the side of a camera shop, which is also opposite the dental surgery - and which I have posted before on 30th August 2024.
It wouldn’t be a proper dental surgery without some teeth and a Smile Room - our surgery has lots of teeth and two Smile Rooms - and it is always a pleasure to visit. Fortunately, we both had a clean bill of health, a “scrape and polish” as we used to call it, and some good insults from Debbie, so a good morning. Just need to get my music sorted out for tonight’s Worship Group and then I can sit and read one of my new library books. I do have other things to do, but they can wait.
P.S. Mr. HCB beat me to it and told Sat and Cla(i)re that it’s only 6 months until Christmas Day!
P.P.S. After many phone calls yesterday, I have booked an appointment to see a Consultant Cardiologist at 7 o’clock on Friday evening of this week.
