Going home
I worked at my friends into the early afternoon. I then set off for my train to Portsmouth nice & early, and I arrived at the station in the village in good time. As the time for my train to arrive drew close it started to slip by a minute every minute. After 5 minutes it did arrive and soon arrived at the next station in no time - but then were stuck outside the station for a further 5 minutes waiting for a platform.
I then spent an extra 20 minutes waiting for my to Portsmouth which was also delayed. Eventually we set off and the guard helpfully pointed out there was a cooler carriage one down which was nice. After a short while the guard announced we would skip most if the intermediate stations and arrived in Portsmouth still delayed but not dreadfully delayed.
I picked up a few last minute things on the way to the ferry port and made it through the port onto the ship in plenty of time. I unloaded by bag in my cabin and left the shower room door open so that the extractor fan could ventilate the stink of tobacco from the cabin - which I went top-side for some air and pictures.
The main blip is the Spinnaker Tower with no lights on yet, and the second is further out into the Solent looking back to England. A French lady buttonholed me and I only got some of the pictures I wanted.
When I went back to my cabin, the extractor from the shower room had removed most of the nasty smell. I hunted around for something to watch on the cabin TV, and there wasn't much that was super interesting, but on the free video on demand, there was Interstellar, so I watched that.
