Seeing, but not yet falling, through the cracks

Today was one of those days when you'd done a day's work before you'd even got to work.  The Bo (15yo son) has bad allergic reaction to pollen  and he was up early with swollen thoat causing issues. Antihistamines abound, nose sprays, eye drops, the world's largest supply of hankies... then a shower, and of course it's sports day so I need to make him a packed lunch plus my own, and then spend an hour worrying about the fact he is going to be outside all day.  And breathe.

Got to work having succesfully carried a computer screen up the hill from the car park (miracles do happen), got to my office and sobbed a lot.  Then people kept coming in and being nice to me, so I sobbed some more.  I don't know what it was about the day but the waves of sadness from the last fortnight just kept coming today in a way they haven't any other day.  Note to self: I must wash some hankies, the supply has been hit hard across household needs these last few days.

Blip: taking a break from sobbing, I always enjoy the view from my office window when it's slightly cranked open - I love how the victorian glass distorts the view of the beautiful building opposite.  These were originally built as hospital buildings (I am in the old nurses home) so in no way actually designed as an office space but we make do (and moan a lot about the temparature, as we freeze in the summer and freeze more in the winter).  This was taken about 10 seconds before it started raining, only slightly annoying that I hadn't checked the weather for Liverpool side before I left the house this morning so had no coat, so I ended up getting damp later in the day.

Went to see MsMoss after work for a restorative cup of tea.  It's good to be able to pass on hugs and love from lots of people.  We even managed to sit outside for a bit (the sun had come out) and we talked about how Folkie looked good in every style of hat.  Further note to self: buy more hats.
