Bees and Blossom

After yesterday's fall I was in a lot of pain and finally took some fairly strong painkillers so I could move around a little. So I was happy I managed to sleep, and then amazed to wake up this morning feeling almost normal. By the time breakfast was over I felt able to get out into the garden and dig a hole for our new apple tree.
But first I went out and stood right next to the blackberry canes. There are so many flowers providing a real harvest for all the local bees. I stood there listening to the bees, and watching them arrive, browse the flowers and head off back to the hive. It was very relaxing to stand there in the sun, listening to these busy bees.  Earlier in the morning I'd read an article about using bees for therapeutic purposes.  I buy the idea!
The main project for me today was getting Jan's apple tree (a birthday present from Claire) planted.
Considering the problems I'd had yesterday with my painful back I was a bit amazed to be digging holes today. However, I was careful and it all went well. We now have an apple tree in the garden!
