Honey Days
I’d planned to swim this morning at a local outdoor pool but I was lacking in energy, and it was wet and breezy - no excuse really but I thought it would be better to go another day. Instead I got on with some overdue jobs at home. This included sorting through my books and taking some to the local charity shops - only to discover they no longer accept reference books. As all my books were non-fiction they are now in the Red Cross’s book donations bin in the local public car park.
We walked Merlin in the cool of the evening. The Lady’s Bedstraw is now in flower, its honey scent hanging in the air. On reading up on this flower I learned the name is possibly derived from the tradition of stuffing straw mattresses with it, particularly those of women about to give birth.
Hoping your day has gone well.
