Mock Orange

This double flowered Philadelphus is one of two in our garden that have been here since we moved in over 40 years ago. Also known as ‘Mock Orange’ because of it’s lovely scent it is always in flower at the beginning of July for our birthdays.

Lovely floral boughs used to hang down but it has been cut back in recent years so now the flowers are high up so I had a bit of a struggle getting a macro shot. We also miss out on the scent a bit too but hopefully more new branches will come along.

I walked up to the village to get some money from the post office and then popped into the Tittle Tattle Tea shop to pay my debt of £1 for a jigsaw I picked up at Pilates on Tuesday ( I know I didn’t need it!) and stayed for the monthly discussion.
The Middle East! Nothing resolved there then. Only one person seemed to have strongly opposing views to the rest of us and that really says it all.

On my way home I saw I had some What’s app messages from Grace with pictures of Jude who has been wearing a woolly Rudolph jumper at pre school all week, she np yet have been warm! She has had a taster session at school today. Also pictures of Eda enjoying summer at school - extra. Think it’s PE day on Friday. She looks so tall in those leggings!
