Between fen and mountains

Oleander

The oleander bush in the courtyard is now in full flower, although we had to cut back another shrub to be able to see it from the window. I was up early to play a little tennis before the heat got up. I played doubles last night, an excellent match, although it was a bit frustrating for my partner and I to lose 10-8 in the deciding set tiebreak having led 8-4. I won’t play again until Sunday evening as the heat wave is really hitting this weekend with temperatures predicted to be up to 39° around here. I am pleased that the bellringing practice has been cancelled for tomorrow evening as we don’t have enough ringers. It has become very hot and stuffy in the church now. I had some physio in the afternoon. I have had my prescription renewed so I should get fifteen more sessions. The three weeks rest without playing in the UK has certainly helped. I have to manage the condition with a strict regime of exercises and physio. I am grateful that the French health service gives generous allocation to physiotherapy for all sorts of minor conditions.
