Recovery Mode

I don't have the stamina of my youth any more - which is an understatement -  so it takes me a day or two to recover from a day like yesterday. Today, I took the luxury of doing practically nothing...except putting the sprinkler on in my parched garden out back.

When I arrived home yesterday, I noted that Shawn had dropped off some of the hydrangeas he is intending to plant on the weekend, so they looked like an easy blip today as I was unreeling the hose...I had to take several snaps, as a cardinal kept photobombing them. The pots of hydrangeas were sitting right under the only bird feeder in the garden that had seeds, so I guess he was a little miffed? or at least curious? I finally decided to quit and just use one with him in it!

Just for fun, I have included in the extras another photobomber at work; he is not hard to spot. I chose not to use it in yesterday's posting, but after this curious cardinal made my blip task challenging today, I thought that I might be seeing a trend forming..which could become a whole series for my blips?

So, today, much reading* and napping was done. No groceries were bought, no suitcases were unpacked and no laundry was done. A visit from a friend and a phone call with my daughter...otherwise, it was a pretty uneventful day.

* "Reading" in this house is a often a euphemism for napping
