Down for breakfast around 8:30. Busier at this time than the early start yesterday. It really is the most delicious array of dishes. I also made up bread and butter and took a couple of pastries and fruit for eating in the plane!
Packed up after breakfast and down to check out. Short walk to the nearby metro station. 20 mins to the airport. So easy a journey.
Issue at security. My bag randomly chosen. Swabbed and it turned red. Taken aside as the whole rucksack was to be emptied and examined! Along with my handbag…. Took a while, glad we had plenty time (we always leave two hours even although we dont check in a case.). Every single item was checked. Imagine your dirty laundry being taken out (which was stuffed into my trainers). Then I was swabbed on hands and feet and I turned the swab red!! I now had visions of being taken into a room and interrogated and searched!! But no, just the hand tapping by the female at the archway.
Swabbed again and this time turned green! I have no idea why I was red and also my bag.
Went for a coffee and water in the terminal, walked the huge distance to our gate, massive airport but very bright and airy. Lots of questions again from the border control. He couldn’t find the Arlanda stamp on my passport to check when I had arrived and eventually did .
Saw our plane arrive (this photo) and then We were on our way. Sat next to a lovely young couple from Australia Natasha and Stuart, who were staying in Edinburgh for two nights then on to Florence. Good chat with them on the short 1.5 flight home.
Miraculously there was no huge queue at Edinburgh passport control. Quick through and then on the bus to the car park and good journey home.
Good to see the pots had survived the week. Good watering from Laura and Ben!
Lucca pleased to see us.
Now, quick wash of clothes and off to Liverpool on Monday day with Ben staying four nights.
