Ramblings and Mutterings

Roastie toastie

Up at ridiculous o'clock to head to old London town again.

It was a roastie toastie today, very warm in the concrete jungle that sucks up the heat. Horrible!

Got cornered as soon as I landed in the office. They want me to solve a problem, but that means it will be a new job and away from my team. It also feels like I would be going back to a role that I left over twenty years ago. My CEO has been nagging for me months to take this role.

My young padawan was in and we went for an early walk and one-to-one. We had a really good chat and she's told me that she will be looking for the next step in her career over the next six months. I'm glad that we have the relationship that she can tell me, she knows I will support her whatever she decides to do. And no matter how sad I will be that she leaves. I told her about my chat. I feel kind of sad.

We had a good laugh in the office together again, it's the one thing that keeps me going in these dark times.

We both finished early and wandered across London as she needed to buy a birthday present for her husband. A lovely evening for a walk.

I was able to make it to the theatre in the evening as well to see My Master Builder starring Ewen MacGregor, aka Obi Wan Kenobi. He was excellent and it was quite an interesting play around love and how grief destroyed one relationship and how a power dynamic of tutor over student ruined another relationship.

Today I am thankful for:

1.  A good day with my young padawan and our open conversations
2.  A good power ramble across London
3.  A good evening at the theatre
