Graduation
A proud day today as my young padawan graduated from university with her Masters in Sustainability.
I caught the train from St.Pancreas up to Bedford and then on to Cranfield University.
I was dead proud to see her in her cap and gown. She has grown and developed so much in the two and a bit years she's been on the programme, it has been a pleasure to watch her.
I was able to speak to her mum as well today, I didn't get a chance at the wedding, and let her know what an incredible young lady she has her daughter. I was singing her praises.
After the ceremony we had celebratory tea and scones, and very nice they were as well. We then had our pictures taken. Steph is very particular about photos, so it took a while for us to find the perfect spot. Lol! I had a normal photo taken with her and then a funny photo, it sums up our relationship. We're serious about what we do and we do great work, but we also have fun at the same time. It has been an honour to be part of two big life events for her, her wedding and her masters graduation.
I headed back to London then and did a couple of hours in the office. It was very quiet and dull. I finished early and headed back to my hotel.
I then headed to Wembley for the evening event, Guns N Roses live. It was fantastic, and Axel Rose has had his problems over the years but he was back on form tonight. And Slash is one of the coolest dudes you're ever likely to see as he plays his guitar with his top hat on his head.
The only downside was the sound quality, after the experience last year it was exactly the same tonight. The videos I took were much better than the live experience, it was very muffled and difficult to hear sometimes what they were actually singing. I'm beginning to think I will avoid Wembley gigs in the future if they can't sort out the sound problems.
There was one sad moment before I walked in. There was quite a large man who was walking to the stadium, he stumbled and nearly did a full face plant into the road. I ran across to make sure he was ok, as he was struggling to get back onto his feet. Everyone else completely walked passed him. As a society have we become that uncaring?
It has been a great day.
Today I am thankful for:
1. Being honoured to be part of my young padawan's graduation
2. Finally seeing Guns N Roses live
