Norway anyone ?

When my new hosts asked if I'd like to go to Norway for the day I leapt at the chance.  We kiwis can't go anywhere significantly different without a flight of several hours, so this was a very welcome offer for me.  

A short 20 minute car ride and I was in a new culture, new language, new speed limit, new architecture, new lots of things.  We visited the fortifications at Halden and nearby canal locks.  We ate icecream and took photos.  We noted the rather relaxed way of marking the boundary between Sweden and Norway - a simple road sign and a narrow break in the trees.  (See extras)  I'd taken my passport with me, (Norway not in the EU), but no one bothered that I was there !
