Royal Yacht Britannia
Today a visit to the Royal Yacht Britannia at Leith. It was a really interesting tour with lots of information before we started and then a good handset audio tour with 27 stations! So nice to see all the queens accommodation plus some of the many sailors etc. they have constructed a very nice cafe on the top deck where we had coffee..my mocha had a lovely ship choc stencil on it…see extra!
Back into the city on a tram and then I did the walk around Greyfriars churchyard without my friends as they were tired..and saw the memorial and statue of Greyfriars Bobby the dog. See extra. This is also the area where JK Rowling used to sit in a coffee shop and write, some of the names of characters in her books are taken from the tombs in the graveyard. eg Potter!
