This is the day

A stitch in time

A little while after I started to make my summer dress, I had to put it on hold for the very good reason that The Traveller’s girlfriend, the lovely T, had just given notice to her landlord and was about to move in here with us instead.

As you can imagine, this necessitated a bit of organisation, and clearing the decks, and making room for all her belongings. She’s brought with her quite a few bits and pieces already, but this morning The Traveller drove our estate car to her accommodation and brought all the last bulky items back. So, from today, T officially resides here.

Having got her settled, I was then able to resume the dressmaking today. I’ve put in an invisible zip, sewn up the side and shoulder seams and inserted the sleeves. I’ll be a bit busy for the next few days, but after that I’ll make the tiered skirt and also line the bodice. The fabric is 100% cotton, double faced, and is quite tricky to work with so I hope it will turn out OK. I also hope that I get it finished while it’s still summer time!
