growing

Whole days are taken up by growing things just now...fruit and vegetables have to be harvested, processed and cooked, grass and logs need cutting and moving from one place to another...and then there is weeding, and cutting back, and more sees to sow and transplant. I love it all, but it's just as well that I no longer have to go to work! 

I did take myself off on a walk this afternoon, and admired the hedgerows which are bursting with wildflowers just now.

8 jars of jam were made today and now I have run out of sugar and lemons. I made a lovely risotto for tea, featuring the first of the broad beans.

D's stings are still stinging - I went to look at the place where he had disturbed the nest yesterday and it looks like they were small and very active wasps, all flying in and out of a hole in the ground. I think we will avoid that part of the garden for a while...
