Day-time

The insect bite (or perhaps sting) on my ankle woke me a couple of times during the night, especially when my leg got hot in the bed. As a result, I decided to ring NHS24 and get some advice. I didn't have to wait too long for a call back, and the conclusion was to visit the pharmacy. There I got a prescription for some hydrocortisone cream, and that seems to have done the trick. I think I am officially a wuss.

We took P over to Dornoch so we could go to the food and drink market that has started up monthly on a Saturday morning. We visited the cathedral where P and Mr A got into an extended conversation with a man who was one of the guides, albeit not doing a guided tour at the time. We also had coffee / hot chocolate in Cocoa Mountain. In between, we went down to the food and drink market in the South car park, where there was a good variety of sellers and some tasty produce to purchase, such as Clyth charcuterie (pictured).

Back home, P headed out in the afternoon to walk around the woods at Aldie Burn, whilst we did a few domestic bits and pieces. I wasn't inclined to go for a walk...given my craving for a quiet weekend. P agreed with us that those woods are exceptionally pleasant for a gentle yomp.

Drinks and dinner were fun. We ate inside, but had drinks outside. It was exceptionally windy (and indeed I found the wind in Dornoch to be a bit overwhelming), but the garden was reasonably sheltered. Finally, I have found a use for the bloody leylandi hedge in the garden up the hill.

The flowers in the blip are a posey of garden flowers residing on the coffee table in the living room. It's always great to have a bit of the outdoors inside. The bit of the garden in the blip is the new honeysuckle which arrived only on Thursday and went in the ground on Friday. It was already made itself fully at home on the trellis.
