That's pants
Sunday started, as it usually does, with a trip to the beach. It was fine weather at that stage (see extra). Well, actually it started before that when I made scrambled eggs for breakfast to go alongside some of the delicious smoked salmon that P has brought us. There were a fairly modest number of swimmers - just five of us. That actually that was four more than I was expecting, as there were no other cars at all in the car park (and no camper vans, huzzah!) when we turned into the car park at 9.45am.
Back home, and showered, I set about (eventually - probably a little later than I should have done) making two rounds of scones for our visitors, themselves fresh from completing a "coast to coast" walk yesterday (and therefore undoubtedly in calorie deficit). Everyone seemed to like the cheese scones although I thought they were a little undercooked because there were probably too many wet ingredients in them. They didn't rise that well. I had to call on Mr A's assistance to get these finished in time. The good old fruit scones were some of the best I've made and they came out really well.
We sat outside for tea and scones, although there were a few spots of rain in the air. It's still pretty warm though, but nothing like it is in most parts of the UK.
And that's another weekend up here done and dusted. We'll be having a quiet evening as both P and I have long drives tomorrow. Mr A is cooking a piece of sea trout I picked up at the Dornoch market yesterday.
Oh, and the blip? After swimming, I headed out to fill up with petrol ready for the journey, to pick up some asparagus at the supermarket, and to wash the car which is covered in bird poo. P came and gave me a tutorial in using a garage jet wash....which seems surprisingly complicated.... Anyway, when we popped into the supermarket, I parked up, opened the car door, looked down, and saw these items. I cannot even imagine how they got there.....
