Flood...

Two days after extensive rain fell these flood waters linger in this apple orchard near Motueka. We drove past it on our way to the Kumeras for a walk along the beach before the sun set for the day. 

We also decided to check out the Motueka River from the nearby bridge on the main road to Golden Bay. While the river is still much higher than usual, it is now back within the usual river banks and not creeping close to the top of the stop-banks. Photos are in extra.

The beach at the Kumeras is a mess with large quantities of debris along the high tide mark. Logs of various sizes and many wooden apple and kiwifruit bins are sitting creating an awful eyesore.
