Oh yes we have!

Oh yes we have got a Radio TeleSwitch (RTS).  Oh no you haven't insists the electricity supplier.  Oh yes we have - and here's a photo of it.

RTS switch off was due within days for 350,000 UK users.  This may be why they have decided at the last minute to change to a slow rollout rather than sudden death switch off of the RTS signal.

All we wanted to know was whether a compulsory (so-called) smart meter would perform the same functions as our exiting set up.  Simple question, you'd think.

To try to get some clarity as phone 'agents'  just said yes, but didn't even know what functionality we had, we sent a 9 precise question email.  Lovely precise email back with each question answered very precisely.  Only problem was that answer to question 1 exactly contradicts answer to question 9.

And then that slow 'aaa-haaa' feeling one gets these days as you realise the precision of the reply and lack of any connection or continuity or contextualising or conditionality of the reply suggests the mindless mind of AI at work.
