Natural Spring

For a couple of years the seepage of water down the lane near the top of the hill was ascribed to a natural spring - even during drought conditions.

Despite all the obvious surrounding conditions pointing to a water leak, the absence of chlorine in the water was deemed decisive.

Of course it was a leak.  At the end of a dead leg of water main, the chlorine has all been consumed in killling bugs etc before the water gets to us - and in dealing with things before it gets to the surface by this hydrant.

In the end a small amount of chlorine was detected and leak now fixed.
