Sark

Today we went to Sark, a 50 minute crossing. It’s been a cloudy, but very warm day so the cloud cover has been welcome for our 8 miles of walking. Sark is very cliffy and just over 3.5 miles long x 1.5 miles wide. On arrival we were whisked by tractor trailer up to the small village. We then headed out to the northern most tip. On the way calling into the very pretty La Seigneurie Gardens, seat of the Seigneur of Sark since the 1700s. Here Sally successfully completed the beech maze! We took a detour to head down to the window in the rock, the views through it to the rocks below were quite stunning. We then walked the full length of the island to go from Big Sark to Little Sark, crossing over La Coupee, photo a narrow ridge 264 feet above the bays below. Again stunning views. The walking on Sark has been quite different today, often feeling like you were on English country lanes, except with no cars to worry about it was extremely peaceful.
