(175) 360

After a long time of 'not getting' the point of 360 cameras I eventually discovered just how they work and what can be done with them. Consequently, I now have another device to fill up hard drive space and need charging up. The main thing I didn't realise about the cameras is that after taking some video footage, the view can be reframed in post-processing to show any part (or all) of the 360 view, as opposed to on, say, a GoPro, where only the scene in front of the camera is captured. So, today's aim was to attach the camera to the bike and see what I could do with it. The blip is a still from a video of a quick ride around the town and although it really doesn't appear to be the case, the camera was mounted on the handlebars. The camera software does a pretty good job of removing the mount attachment from the video, giving the impression that the camera is somehow floating in front of the bike. It will take a bit of experimentation and practice to get the hang of shooting and editing with this kit but it's already a lot of fun.
