Lancaster at the Prom
'We are so lucky to live here!', we agreed, as we walked to the busy Prom.. Armed Forces day drew in the crowds. We paused for a few Landrover paun pics for J - he was jealous. Then we headed to the sea wall for the real reason we left the house ... 11.30 am was the advertised time. The flypast exceeded our expectations. A low buzz in the sky from the south, then over she flew ... slow and low ... then banked to turn for a second ... and yes, third flypast! Each time lower, slower, and nearer! Spontaneous applause from the whole croud, waving, and my heart beating loudly with a real sense of pride. An experience to cherish.
Home for lunch before a beautiful afternoon Gig row. Perfect weather. We planned to meet up with Victory, who was returning from an adventurous row from Mersea. We met up successfully in the river before turning to head home. I took stroke then cox. My confidence is growing. Cider in the Little Ship to follow and talk of the Mersea adventures.
Another fab day.
