Small Perhaps, But Welcome

Today is much hotter than yesterday, which probably accounts for the low numbers of bee and butterfly visitors to the garden. I'm guessing they'll be about late afternoon when it might be a little cooler.

I was pleased to find one little visitor on the Valerian flowers; it's the first time I've seen a Small Heath in the garden. It's official name is anything but small, "Coenonympha pamphilus".
