Blooming barrow
I've had a lot of help in the garden when I was away. The gardeners have finished the second gravel garden, and also done loads of weeding and brush cutting around the perimeter of the lawn. Another chap from the village has cut the lawn, and a friend has been in every day to water the numerous pots and hanging baskets. As a result it's looking really lovely now. Lots of weeding still to be done, but I'm delighted with it. Here's my old wheelbarrow of petunias.
Last night about 8pm Ziggy's legs started to give way and he kept falling to the floor. I thought he'd had a stroke. I cuddled him all night and had little sleep. I got an appointment for mid morning and feared the worst. After a check up the vet said he's not overly worried and that Ziggy has vertigo (vestibular disease) and that it's quite common in elderly dogs. No treatment and hopefully it should only last up to 3 days. A friend who is a retired vet called in this afternoon and he agreed totally with what my vet had said. He also told me off for not calling him last night but I was reluctant to bother him on a Sunday evening. As he said he can't treat him but could express his opinion. I've been keeping Ziggy quiet today. Fingers crossed he'll be better soon.
