Messing about on the river

I got the boat out at the weekend to check it was still ok after being neglected for two summers. Ali and I hatched a plan to escape the heatwave this evening after work and hit the river.

We got in from Montford Bridge after leaving a car at Frankwell. I stupidly hadn’t checked the distance and forgot that rivers have a habit of meandering somewhat. Three hours and twelve miles later, we reached Frankwell, exhausted.

I’ve got a presentation to do in Stone tomorrow with my big boss, Dan, and I’m sure he won’t be best pleased if I can’t make it because my arms are too sore to drive!
