MONDAY

Spent an hour in the garden this morning, soaking up the sunshine in the  30ºC heat.

this afternoon, I nipped down to the bowls club for an hour’s practice ahead of this week’s matches. Thankfully, the temperature had eased a little by then. The grass is looking very brown but the bowls are running nicely.

On a short walk around the village this evening, I came across a ram with one of its curled horns firmly stuck on a guy rope to an electricity pole. I popped into the village pub and found a couple of local farmers enjoying a drink—they were more than happy to drive down to the field and release the poor creature.
