White Socks, White Heat, Maidstone

If anything it has been even hotter today than yesterday and made last night very uncomfortable sleep wise. As we knew it was going to get very hot today we set out on our morning run just after six so that we escaped the worst of the humidity and the heat.
We popped into town just before lunchtime and the first thing we did was head to a 'Spoons for a lovely cold pint. With today's images I was trying to capture the way the blazing sun turned the concrete almost white - the  air out of the shade and shadows felt heavy and exhausting. I decided to embrace the strong contrast between dark and light and thought this worked best in black and white.
