Windmill
Our last day today and, though we still haven't managed to contact my cousin, we went to Melton Mowbray for the market and to buy gifts for house-sitters and the like.
All accomplished, and after delicious coffee and cake at Time Out Cafe, we walked round the park a while, examined the bandstand, looked at the somewhat sluggish River Eye, bought ice creams then headed back to the car.
Our route passed through Wymondham so nipped up to see the windmill, this is Grade II listed, built in 1814 of local ironstone and brick with an ogee cap with a fan tail. Originally it had six sails, known as a Six Arm Lincolnshire Cross.
Nowadays there are small shop units and a restaurant and a pleasant breeze.
Blipping early as I now have to decide what to pack for tomorrow. Who knows, perhaps those woolly jumpers I packed will come in useful after all!
