Long story, short... 

Thomas wanted to come with me to walk around the nature reserve behind the house, but very shortly afterwards he'd had enough... So I walked him back home, and then set off again by myself, snapping this little stream running into the central pond. I'm assuming the colour is something to do with the vegetation/soil mix, and not pollution.
