Return to Ringinglow

Finished work 1st thing and got home for a looking snooze. Waking up later in the afternoon it became apparent that the whole house was suffering a stressbomb, so after a spruce up some tea, and listening to everyone offload, I suggested we all just.o in the car and go for a drive to cool off.

It sort of worked on the latter in that the car has good air conditioning ( ;-D ) but there's something about watching the world pass by outside that in particular helps youngest to defrag. Eldest was pleased because we went back over the Snake Pass to revisit Ringinglow.

This time we found the Rotary Club viewing point spotted on the map. There is a toposcope (blip) pointing out some of the distant things to spot along with unlikely ones like London, which am sure is too far away to see with a telescope...never mind the naked eye!

Eldest reckons some of the red lights we could see may have belonged to the mighty Humber Bridge and Scunthorpe Steelworks were a definite possibility.

As the light faded, we found the Norfolk Arms on Ringinglow Road and enjoyed a cool drink outside before heading back over the Snake in an outer Mancunian direction.
